After a lengthy Christmas break, it’s time to go back to school. It’s always strange coming back to school after a two week break because you have to learn a new schedule of classes, find new friends in those classes, and figure out who you’re going to sit with at lunch. It’s also a new semester, so that means new information and finals in 18 weeks. I’m also a junior so I have to schedule college visits and start applying to colleges. Life is about to get crazy.
It’s crazy to think about, but I only have three semesters left of high school. It’s amazing that I’m already halfway through my junior year. It feels as if I should still be waking up at 10 am and watching Dora before I headed off to afternoon preschool. I don’t really want to grow up, but it’s inevitable.
I also have competition season coming up. This year, I’m in both varsity show choirs, so I have to put in twice the work. I enjoy it so much, but I already know that I’m going to be very tired. I’m going to have an average of five rehearsals every day. Some practices are no less than 8 hours long. Show choir is a killer sport, but it’s worth the pain.
I guess you could say it’s just time to get back to the grind. It’s time for homework and rehearsals and bad lunches. Let’s get this bread. Or in the school’s case, stale bread.
